Projects
Birch Drive, Maryburgh
This was a lovely project to work on. The client wanted somewhere to be a base for a summer house that had been ordered, and an area of patio to sit out on. As well as this, they needed a workspace around their greenhouse, a storage area at the back.
The garden was already beautiful and well established with mature trees and a pond. This raised patio area with summerhouse allows the client to sit out and enjoy the view and all the wildlife on a nice day. It’s a functional workspace, solid base for summerhouse and greenhouse and a sun trap on a warm day.
St Columba’s Way, Tornagrain
On this one, the client tasked us with a full design and install in their garden. With it being a new build over in Tornagrain, it was a blank canvas. We were asked to produce a low maintenance space that would provide some space to sit out on a nice day, screen off the garden for privacy but provide some planting throughout the garden to break up the gravel and paving. It also was the main access into the house, so easy access was required via a ramp.
Porcelain paving was installed throughout to provide two seating areas. Gravel was used to create a low maintenance space and the beds were all planted up.
Carn Elrig View, Aviemore
Another joy of a client to work for. The client needed an old, failing sleeper retaining wall replaced, and at the same time wanted to make a feature in the garden with a fish pond.
They were so pleased with the job they got me back in to retrofit a patio to fit into the area and provide a nice seating area to enjoy this lovely garden that backs out onto a wooded area.
Blackthorn Road, Inverness
This job was for a smaller, urban garden. The brief was to provide a maintenance free, but lovely and green lawn, a big ask from a natural lawn. So a premium quality artificial lawn was chosen, that looks as good as the real thing - with zero mainenance.
As well as the lawn, some planting was planned in beds surrounding and a fresh update on an existing rockery.
The Meadows, Muir of Ord
This one was in a beautiful, already very well established garden. The client had some lovely mature trees and hedging and had a nice, private space. But looking after the lawn became too much, so they wanted a functional garden that would allow them to enjoy the space, with less grass to cut.
A large sandstone patio was installed, with lovely blockpaving pathways leading to a feature circle patio. Beyond this is a sunken patio with raised log retaining wall to provide some depth and interest to the garden - as well as providing a cosy area to read a book. Planting was installed throughout as well as timber pergola with climbers. In a few years this one will be a showstopper!
